From March 28 to April 6, 1997, five students and two teachers from El Molino High School in Forestville California visited Guatemala with YBB. They lived in the Mayan village of Lo De En Medio for five days, learning first-hand about life in another culture. This was YBB's second trip to the rain forest of Guatemala.

While in Guatemala, the American youth performed service work for the village's schoolhouse, helping paint and decorate it with donated educational materials brought from the U.S.
